Toronto’s The Get Alongs return with “Sunday Afternoon,” the second advance single from their upcoming LP Second To None, out June 19, 2026 via Having Fun / We Are Busy Bodies. Where first single “Come On” leaned into grit and late-night energy, “Sunday Afternoon” flips the perspective, dialing into melody, space, and that hazy, half-slow feeling of a city summer day stretching into the dusty pink haze of a Toronto dusk, streetcar wires crackling overhead as the night starts to settle in. Built around jangling guitars and a loose, rolling groove, “Sunday Afternoon” channels a different side of the band’s sound. There are shades of The Stone Roses in the rhythm and shimmer, a bit of the stripped-back patience of early 90s alt-rock, and a melodic core that lands closer to The Lemonheads than their more garage-leaning work. It’s still unmistakably The Get Alongs, just pulled into softer light, where the hooks come easy and the edges feel worn in rather than blown out.
Since forming in 2017, the four-piece, Harrison Pickernell (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rory Pickernell (lead guitar), Eric Wood (bass), and Tristan Catenacci (drums), have steadily evolved from scrappy garage beginnings into something more expansive. Their debut Weather Permitting introduced that blend of surf-tinged indie rock and instinct-driven songwriting, earning CBC radio play, European dates including Reeperbahn, and support slots with Limblifter, Wunderhorse, and Cardinals. On Second To None, that foundation is still intact, but the band pushes further into arrangement, tone, and dynamic control. “Sunday Afternoon” highlights that shift. The guitars shimmer instead of scrape, the rhythm section settles into a pocket rather than pushing forward, and a winding lead line cuts through the track with a loose, almost off-the-cuff feel before opening up into a full-on shred. It’s a song that doesn’t rush itself, letting the melody do the heavy lifting while the band leans into restraint without losing their sense of movement.

TAHM began life in the 90s, formed by Katie Palmer, Ian Palmer, and Paul Hodgson.
Armed with a few demos they signed to Roadrunner Records and quickly made their
mark. Working with renowned producers Paul Kendall (Nine Inch Nails) and George
Shilling (Bernard Butler, Yazz), their music featured in Hollywood films including
*Entrapment*, *Virus*, and *Stargate*, alongside Sky TV campaigns and national radio
airplay. Praise followed from *Kerrang!*, *Melody Maker*, and *NME*, with tours
alongside Shed 7, Smoke City, and Cleopatra. Then, as so often happens, life
intervened.
Fast-forward 25 years. A chance reconnection reignited the spark — not as a nostalgia
project, but as a creative rebirth. In February 2025, they launched a run of four singles
that firmly re-established TAHM as a vital contemporary band. These tracks earned BBC
Northwest Introducing airplay, featured on the BBC Orbit app, and found their way onto
influential playlists across the UK and US. *17 Years* reached #1 on the Prospect Music
Chart and received radio play as far afield as Los Angeles.
Throughout 2025, TAHM became regular fixtures on respected independent radio
stations including Amazing Radio, Future Sounds Radio, Alternative Twist, Unheard
Radio, and Prospect Radio, alongside interviews and guest appearances on a range of
music podcasts. Coverage followed from outlets such as *Notion*, *Music Crowns*,
*Flex Music*, *Total Entertainment*, *Plastic Magazine*, *Rattler*, and *Clout*,
reflecting growing industry and media attention.
With over 90,000 streams in their first single year and a rapidly expanding fanbase —
growing their socials from double figures to over 4,000 — TAHM have combined studio
output with regular live performances online, while rehearsing for an increasingly busy
live schedule in 2026
Now focused on writing and recording new material, TAHM’S sound has evolved into
something more anthemic with an atmosphere of hazy, late-summer warmth; big
choruses and strong melodies.
Five new singles are planned for 2026, beginning in February

SOLAR EYES
Just in time for a hot, hazy summer ahead, Solar Eyes return with a brand new single, “Be Under No Illusion” on 28th May.
“Be Under No Illusion” is a full‑throttle indie psych-rock track that hits with immediacy, confidence and a gun-slinging swagger. Driven by a relentless groove, howling fuzz guitars, and Western-movie vocal whoops, it brings the raw energy of early Kasabian and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to a Morricone-scored shoot-out.
With its unusual, off-kilter 7/4 time signature it counts itself amongst a rare-breed of classic tracks,
including Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song” and Pink Floyd’s “Money”, both of which count them as part of their DNA.
The result is a dizzying track firmly rooted in the now, but very much orbiting in a realm of its own.
The same day, Solar Eyes will accompany the track with two contrasting B‑sides that deepen the picture.
The interdimensional, driving shoegaze of “Sweet Angel” is a claustrophobic contrast of darkness and light;whilst its companion “All Because Of You” is both hazy and melodic as it walks a tightrope of tension withatmosphere – think Velvet Underground or Suicide with a hint of Bob Dylan.

Here is the new LP from Wuzy Bambussy.
As LPs go at 28 minutes long you’ll definitely hear longer ones.
But it’s something I’m very proud of pulling together, there’s some great songs on it and thanks to all the players and folk that played a part in its production. Especially me old mucker Ian Deverall Iggy.
Promoting a release is the hardest thing as mentally you’ve already moved on, my head is taken up with new songs. Anyway it’s out now initially on just Bandcamp & Soundcloud. Spotify and the other usual suspects will follow later this month, cheers!
